THE ARCHITECTURE TRIENNIAL 2027 – TIME HORIZONS

The theme for the 2027 Architecture Triennial is Time Horizons. It explores how time is constructed, renegotiated, and takes shape in the built environment. What does time mean from the perspective of architecture’s horizons and how is time materialized when it transitions into architecture? How slowly should architecture move in relation to an ever-growing and demanding societal development? And how quickly can architecture act in an era when destruction escalates, whether through demolition or war? Which long-term and short-term horizons must architecture consider in the transformation of our living environments towards a sustainable future? Perspectives that could range from the time scales of geology to the life cycle of a building.
